You'll fly into Brisbane late on the 10th or early on the 11th of August 2021. We'll have an optional crew dinner on the night of the 10th at the Manly Village and complete final preparations for departure the next day. On the 11th August we'll depart RQYS Marina around 12pm and head north, up the Queensland East Coast, through the Whitsunday Islands to Hamilton Island. It’s a navigators minefield with islands, reefs, whales, commercial ships, pleasure boats and the Australian Navy to watch out. This voyage will take 5 days sailing time to complete and we'll break it up with one or two overnight stops in sheltered islands or bays on the way north. On the way north we'll assess the weather conditions and tide times to decide whether we sail down the eastern or western side of the Stradbroke Islands, Moreton Island and the world's largest sand island; 'Fraser Island'. The inside (western) route has additional navigation challenges including crossing the notorious Wide Bay Bar at the southern tip of Fraser Island.

We would expect to arrive at the Hamilton Island Yacht Club on the 16th of August and you are welcome to stay onboard and should plan to fly out of either Hamilton Island directly out of Airlie Beach (Proserpine) and catch the ferry from Hamilton Island to Airlie Beach on the 17th of August.
