South East Queensland escape, Australia / 190nm / 2 - 5 Jul 2021

4 days / 3 nights / cat 3 cruise / Crew full waitlist only

This 4-day cruise is the perfect chance to enjoy an interesting 93nm ocean passage from Southport to Mooloolaba with the return trip on the western side of Morton Island and the Stradbroke Islands to take in Tangalooma, Moreton Bay and the Canaipa Passage as we navigate carefully through the internal southern Moreton Bay waterways back to Southport.

This is a relaxing retreat that expedition that takes in island and coastal cruising, beaches, hikes and sea life.

On this mini-expedition we will visit and explore the following stops;

  • Mooloolaba

  • Tangalooma

  • Peel Island

  • The Stradbroke Islands

  • The inland waterway between Moreton Bay and Southport

Just 25km off Brisbane’s shore lies the third largest sand island in the world. Moreton is mostly protected national park with less than 100 residents calling the island home. The world-famous Tangalooma Wrecks are sunk just offshore, plus there are surf beaches, fresh-water lakes, giant sand dunes, a historic lighthouse and wartime bunkers to explore, campgrounds to pitch a tent, Mt Tempest to climb and wild dolphin feeding nightly.

This expedition is a combination of sailing, swimming, cruising, exploring, relaxing and discovering some unique and hard to get to places.
