The racing events are for the action orientated. These events are designed for sailors of all levels, including new sailors and we work together as a race crew, using a full wardrobe of sails, to compete to the best of our ability. Having fun is still the primary focus.

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Race is one of the toughest and most respected ocean races in the world. It’s the only major race that starts in a harbour, takes in a passage and finishes in a river. This will be the 79th edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race, with a fleet in excess of 100 yachts expected. The electric pre-race village atmosphere at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) followed by the excitement of the build-up to the start on Sydney Harbour on Boxing Day is hard to describe.

Airlie Beach Race Week is the ultimate combination of spectacular island racing and evening fun ashore. For just the second time in decades we will see a fully crewed Category 1 yacht race from Australia to New Zealand. The race will start on Sydney Harbour and finish in the Auckland Harbour. This challenging race is open to offshore cruising and racing yachts in the IRC and PHS divisions. The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) and Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) are excited to announce their partnership for the 1,270nm Sydney to Auckland event.
