With nothing but open ocean from the bottom of Australia/New Zealand to Antartica; 1,000nm to the south, the ocean swell can build in height with no land to stop it for more than 2,500nm until it hits the shores of the Pacific Islands.

For just the second time in decades we will see a fully crewed Category 1 yacht race from Australia to New Zealand. The race will start on Sydney Harbour and finish in the Auckland Harbour. This challenging race is open to offshore cruising and racing yachts in the IRC and PHS divisions. The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) and Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) are excited to announce their partnership for the 1,270nm Sydney to Auckland event.

This 7-day cruise is the perfect chance to enjoy some of the magical islands of the Bay of Islands and northern New Zealand coastline. This cruising ground offers numerous options for anchoring, exploring and enjoying this stunning part of New Zealand. Each day we will set a course for a new anchorage, that we select as a crew based on weather and comfort.

  • Option 1: 50% deposit payable following the approval of your booking. Balance of 50% is payable 60 days before departure.

  • Option 2: 20% deposit payable following the approval of your booking. Balance payable in equal weekly automatic payments.

  • Option 3: 100% payable if less than 60 days until departure.
